The band practising. H2One is primarily a
young adult congregation, and is one of the three congregations of Holdfast
Baptist Church. Our name ‘H2One’ is long-standing. It derives from Hebrews 2:1: “We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away”. Our purpose?: To seek out people, to make disciples who make disciples. H2One has three core components, participation in which we consider integral to God fulfilling his purpose through us: 1. Sunday night worship: We all meet together to share as a diverse but unified Christian community, to sing, worship, study God’s Word, pray, be encouraged, and be challenged in our discipleship to Jesus Christ. These nights begin with our infamous $2 dinner, from 5.30-8.30pm at our Camden Park location (Carlton St). 2. Mid-week community: Each week we also meet in smaller, more intimate communities focused on sharing life together, faithfully following Jesus, and praying and caring for each other and our community. This is where we are best able to care for each other, so if you are not here, it’s not that we don’t care – it’s just that we won’t be able to care for you as well as we would like to! 3. Planned discipleship and transformation: With life being as full and demanding as it is, we have realised that in order to participate in our spiritual transformation into the likeness of Christ, we need a plan. Our discipleship program is that plan! Covering the major aspects of the Christian life, this program is designed to help us come to experience the fullness of life that Jesus says is possible (John 10:10), and through that, to find rest for our souls (Matthew 11:28-30). All that we do, we seek to do as Christian community and as followers of Jesus. We expect that by partnering with God to create a church from which we go, not to which we go, that our lives would be lived for the sake of those who are yet to meet Jesus. Thanks for reading! |
